Want to know more about jazz?

Whether you're a classroom teacher, a band director, musician, private teacher, or interested jazz fan the Louisville Jazz Society can help you get connected with the information you need.

Would you like some jazz musicians to come to your classroom or other location to talk about jazz and play the music? Click here for information about a free program offered through the University of Louisville. This program could be a great part of your school's preparation for the humanities portions of KERA.

We support jazz students of all ages through a variety of scholarship opportunities.

Each year the Louisville Jazz Society offers two individual full-tuition scholarships to the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Workshops held on the University of Louisville's campus. Click here for the LJS Scholarship Application (Adobe PDF document).

In the near future The Louisville Jazz Society plans to begin offering a scholarship/continuing education grant to one area middle or high school teacher each year who wants to attend an out-of-town jazz pedagogy workshop, such as those offered each summer by the International Association for Jazz Education. If you are interested in sponsoring this unique scholarship, please send an e-mail to president@louisvillejazz.org  And continue to watch this space as details are added.

We support music education at area universities, too.

The Louisville Jazz Society also offers general financial support to the annual Bellarmine Jazz Guitar Clinic. For information about the next clinic, click here

The Louisville Jazz Society also offers general financial support to the University of Louisville's School of Music. For information about the Jazz Studies Program at U of L click here and be sure to click on their calendar for upcoming concerts and special events.

And we encourage all area middle school and high school jazz bands. You can get in touch with local band directors - and find out about their concert schedules - by clicking on the links below
